    The Swiss Bronceguss AG (BAG) is founded in Turgi/ Switzerland.

  • 1967

    BAG Turgi initiates production of igniters and ballasts

    With invention of the high pressure sodium vapour lamp by GE, BAG starts production of a supply unit consisting of a thyristor-controlled igniter and inductive ballast.

  • 1972

    Superimposed-pulse igniters replace thyristor-controlled igniters

    The first superimposed-pulse igniters with bi-metal starter under the name of SM6 replace thyristor-controlled igniters as switching elements.

  • 1981

    The first electronic ballasts are presented

    We show electronic control gear for the first time at the Hanover trade fair.

  • 1998

    A production site is founded on the Philippines

    The first foreign manufacturing location is founded near Manila on the Philippines

  • 1999

    Expansion in China

    A production site is founded in Zhuhai.

  • 2002

    Company takeover and relocation of BAG Turgi to Arnsberg

    BAG electronics GmbH is founded in 2002 with its location at Arnsberg, Germany. The further expansion also covers all activities in the areas of production, development, sales management, marketing, procurement and logistics.

    Market launch of Zirius hot restrike igniters

    In the hot re-ignition sector the new ZIRIUS generation offers completely electronic ignition devices with intelligent ignition management systems to achieve several user advantages.

  • 2010

    HÜCO Lightronic becomes BAG

    Right on time for Light+Building 2010: the dual-brand strategy is replaced with the new corporate design, and HÜCO Lightronic is also called BAG.

  • 2013-16

    Expanding in India

    BAG India established a domestic manufacturing plant. From 2011 until the present, BAG India has carried the legacy and established itself as one of the most trusted br a nds.
